Gippsland Health dines out on handiwork - 8 November 2012

The handiwork of Fulham Correctional Centre prisoners is making a difference to patients, staff and visitors at Central Gippsland Health Services' hospital in Sale. This WIN TV news broadcast shows the work undertaken by prisoners in building six outdoor dining tables that have been donated to the hospital and installed in the community courtyard. The prisoners built the furniture as part of a skills education program. The partnership between Fulham Correctional Centre and Gippsland Health Services is one of many that The GEO Group Australia has formed with local community organisations. The partnerships allow prisoners to learn new skills, give back to the community and help to break the cycle of re-offending.
