Inmates rally for cystic fibrosis6 September 2012

Prisoners at Junee Correctional Centre have repaired and painted an old Holden panel van that will compete in the 2012 Great Escape rally to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Australia. In this WIN television news report, GEO personnel discuss the work undertaken on the car named ‘Rosie’. It is the fourth year that GEO has supported the rally. This year the company will enter two cars and hopes to raise more than $20,000 to help fund research into cystic fibrosis and raise awareness of the condition. Preparation of the vehicles provides an opportunity for prisoners to learn new skills and give back to the community. Activities such as this are important in helping to break the cycle of re-offending.
